memphis vs SI

ok, i pull up to school today playing a song by young dro called "man in the trunk" well i guess my friend hears it and asks me "what i know about a man in the trunk." i said ask me that on monday and ill show you something (because im taking my car in on friday for the subs to be put in). he says what are you getting? i say im getting some stuff you havent heard of, SI. He's like so and so will shut you down, i ask what he has. He says 2 15" memphis subs, i say which, mojos? he says no right under the mojos, i just looked it up and im guessin M1 because he said L1.

well since i didnt know anything about those i said we'll see. then he says this purple car in the lot with 2 base-line memphis 12's will shut me down, i said now you crazy. Blah Blah he goes on saying hes gettin 3 15" L7's i say in that case...you'll be louder but your friend wont.

can anyone shed some light on this? how these memphis subs are?he did go on to say memphis is the best brand out right now and its best in competition, i said you crazy. M1 or M3? aint too sure on which but its one of those. and how do they stack up to the Mag, if its nothing to the Mag i will make sure to enlighten these kids, i just wanna make sure im not gonna look like an *** in the process.

how do they stack up to the mag 12.

basically 2 15" M1 vs 2 12" mag

because according to him, i bought 'crap' isnt he in for a surprise.

A friend of mine has the memphis m3 subs in his tacoma.

I have also hear and played with the m3s in a few different setups. I perfer the SQ of the mag much more then the m3.

The m3 IIRC is only rated for 400rms the mag is 900rms. More power handling.

The mag looks like it will have a greater xmech and xmax.

EDIT: his 2 15's will have more displacement then your 2 12's and the definate possiblility of being louder.

im guessin this kids setup is sealed becuase 2 15's ported in a new body impala should be tough...not the newest body style the one right before it.

my buddy did a set up with 2 12" m3s that did 151 in db drag and meca its also a daily driver. id say the si is a better sq woofer at least but in either way (sq or spl) the si has more potential but what it really boils down to is the install. a few years back alot of memphis stuff won at both world finals and wasnt listed as memphis to get some free stuff from other companies for winning lol

We did a direct swap of my 2 12" mags in his bandpass blowthrough...

He went from dencetly loud and low to almost hair trick loud and 30hz was hard to breath //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Ran off 2 Orion 275 HCCA amps in his Reg cab tacoma.

If he has 2 m3's 15's in the correct box he might beat you in spl. But it doesnt sound like he knows what he has and it probably wont in the correct box. Good luck though I hope you own him.

i had 2 of the hpo 15sand hpo 12s ( they are the saem thing as the m3 cept the m3 is catridge reconable) i saw a 150 out of my pair of 15s in my blazer... really loud subs... mags have MUCH MUCH more potential tho

really...i wanted to do a bandpass going through the armrest...theyd cut it out and fire right into the car...but i heard bad reviews on it.

i dont know his amp...but you know i have the sundown....opinion on that...even then 2 12 close to or louder then 2 15's is saying something.
