memphis vs coustic vs ??

The Memphis unit looks nice and I would have gotten it if there were any available on eBay at the time. Local dealers around here wanted anywhere from $130-180.

I ended up going with the Coustic. One limitation is that the bandpass has a max of 3khz on the LP.

I might be willing to sell my Coustic. It's BNIB. PM me for details if interested.

(sorry for thread whoring...)

So the mids will only play to 3000hz? Do I want them to go alot higher then that? Won't there be a big hole before the tweeters take over?
It depends on what your tweeters are capable of. If you have tweeters that can play fine off a 2600Hz crossover point, then it'll be fine. I'll get the pics of the XM6 for you either later tonight or tomorrow... I just got back from WalMart with fresh camera batteries since the current ones I have didn't have enough juice in them to turn the view screen on or charge the flash.

I sent JL an email asking where to find the T/S parms for the mids and tweets in your VR comp set since they seem to think it's not too important to list it anywhere.

you really want to sell me this ehh? lol.

I need to know the theile small parameters? I was just looking for the freq ranges for the mid and tweet. the one freq range for both drivers listed on their site doesnt help much.

No, it's not that I really want to sell it to you.... if it works for you, great. If not, so be it.

I'm just trying to help you out, man. The specific parameter that would help out a lot is the tweeter's Fs. If JL comes back and says the Fs is high like 2000 Hz, then I certainly wouldn't run the Coustic since it leaves the potential for a very large frequency gap (3000 to 4000 Hz).

Theres no way to measure it myself without an oscope, correct?
I'm not so sure an o'scope would necessarily help out in that instance. The JL engineers should have the T/S parms, so I'm hoping I hear back from them soon to let you know what the tweeters Fs is.
