Hi, my father bought me my first system ever saturday. It was a 15-PR124. It was a package deal that came with a Memphis 16-PR100.2 and the Memphis 12' universal box. I've been researching car audio equipment for 7 monthes. I just hope that this would be a good steup. I like More spl than SQ but i like it to be almost equal. If you know anything about this i would greatly appreciate it.

I had a Memphis 12" but to be honest with you I felt like my alpine type R hit alot harder than the mempis did..............Just my thoughts

$419 installed with a wiring kit. There a factory installer so i get the 3 year warrenty. The problem is not installed untill Dec 27 casue my father wants them to "feel" like a chrimas present. I'm nervous cause i hope he didnt waste 420$. I was originally going to get a dual 2 ohm Type R with a Kenwood KAC-9102D which is 500 RMS at 4ohms so i thought that that would be a good set-up. im really hoping that the refrence series from Memphis will get me going though...

Well unless you had a M3 I wouldnt even comapre the R to a memphis . Also the power ref line is great entry level stuff.

memphis prs kick *** for the money he paid retail price but i think you will be happy with it....my mother has a pr 10 in her car and it gets plenty loud

What about the amp... i cant find what it produces at 4ohm mono, online at Memphiscaraudio.com it says 200X2 but thats not mono... Its a RS 16-PR200.2

and how much THD would it produce... Sorry if im asking too many questions were on a tight budget a i dont want to waste 420. OHHH my biggest problem the amp doesnt have a subsonic filter what can i do about it.

AHHH Im sry i was lookin at the Memphis site and its the 16-PR100.2. Is 140 RMS ok for a sub that can take 250. That seems kind of underpowered. also what about there being NO SSF???

Don't worry, I'm sure you'll be plenty happy.PR's can get sick loud for the amount of power you give them, pretty efficent subs.

No SSF, unless you plan on driving around playing 20hz test tones all day I think you'll be fine.The sub should start unloading around 30-32hz. Most MUSIC won't go that low.Bass songs on the other hand often go into the 20s.
