Memphis PR1.500

I just had a few quick questions regarding my Memphis PR1.500 amp. I have it hooked up to my M3 12" D2 running @ 1ohm. undeadxsunshine helped me with amp settings (like what to set gains at etc.) but I had a question regarding setting up the bass knob (16-PRRG) to the amp.

When I had set it up originally it sounded very weird so I unhooked it. I was wondering if anyone could help me as to how to set the amp up w/ the knob.

You weren't by any chance using the bass control on your head unit in addition to cranking the bass on the bass boost knob, were you?

If it sounds OK without it, you don't need it!

My only other question would be did you route the wire for the knob near any electrical devices, your fusebox, etc.? It shouldn't "sound funny" with just plugging the knob in unless something is wrong with the knob or the cable connecting it to the amp.

Regardless, I wish you luck with that Memphis amp because I had nothing but problems with them in 2007 and swore I would never use them again!

I actually tried a different route, and got it to work real well. I like their products (well the ones I use) pretty well so far. I don't have a crazy set up, nothing off the wall, just a little 12 in a ported box, it gets loud (to me) when I need it to.

Mine was just a PR 2.75 added to the premium factory sound system in my 2007 Accord. Within a 6 month time frame I had TWO amps die under warranty. Then when a drunk driver crossed the center line, the amp really died as the subwoofer slammed through the heatsink and into the circuit board //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I also had two other Memphis amps (M class and MOJO) arrive DOA BNIB from unauthorized internet retail sources. The problem with all of the Memphis amps was poor support of the circuit board and/or crappy soldering on the transistor legs.

On the other hand, glad you got your problem solved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif
