So just wanted to get a couple opinions.......

1. Would a couple of PRs hit harder in a sealed box or a ported one?

2. My friend is helping me build a box and he's had plenty of systems.......he wants to build a hybrid box, so it would be sealed but there would be a piece that you can remove to make it ported.....he also says that we need to tune it to around 38-40 because these subs aren't made to have 32-35 hertz tuning. So any input showing him that he's wrong?

they call for 35 hz when u get up to 40hz it will sound like do do. trust me i say tune to 30 -35 hz u will love it. U can put them in a sealed box if you want. it will have a little more punch if u ask me. there wont be as much output as a ported box will put out were it peakes.

u can allways go sealed bro u dont have to worry about what u should tune it to if its worring u this much. i just dont think thats what u want. u dont need to go crazy with a "hybrid box". A simple box will do subs back port back tune to lets say 34 hz u will be fine.dual chambers dual ports its all up to u bro .good luck

Also tuning a PR would be great in 30-35 hz.

Fan of sealed myself so I always vote for ported

hes doing 500 rms i think. so hes sending 250 to each sub.

lower power I would do a bigger ported box....probly 5 cu ft tune to 32-34....did a PR 15 for my brother on 200 watts, 3.1 cu ft tuned to 35 and it sounds great

My friend had 2 12" PR's in a sealed box, and it sounded great.

I can't exactly remember the specifications of the box.

5.5 tuned to 34hz is really nice imo 6cuft is better

PR's are more built for a ported enclosure.. if you want sealed go Mclass line...

if you go ported, tune low like ppl said 32hz @ a little over 5 cubes- about i would say... tuning any higher than about 35 will make your sub louder, but it wont sound any good, and you wont want to turn it up lol

I have also head them ported, iirc the box was around 4.7 cubes tuned to 35hz. It sounded pretty decent. But I prefer them sealed.
