I still cant figure out why people feel the need to run amps below 1 ohms. All it does is squeak a bit more power out of the amp and (depending on amp brand) can physically damage the FET's and other driver board components over time. But whatever.

why exactly are you trying to get a lower than 1 ohm load out of the amp? are you trying to do burps for competition or something? Because running below 1 ohms on any amp is rough on amps in general. If you're just daily beating then you really shouldnt need to run that low of an impedence.

I got custom .7 ohm mt 15 just trying to find an amp that will properly power that sub. I have an IA 20.1 but definatly dont think that amp will fill the bill. who knows

wire that to 1.4. with rise you will be at 2 and OK.

the mcd2500 puts out 2500 watts at 1 ohm my sub is .7 ohms which means .35 ohms or 1.4 ohms. rise isnt gonna put me above or even at 1 ohm. really I would be at .8-.9 ohms. so I prabably would be better finding an amp that does 2500-3000 watts at 2 ohms right. so give me some options besides the kickers. or will my IA 20.1 be alright run as low as .35

If I were in your particular situation I would look for a kicker kx/zx2500.1 or a massive P3000.1 and run it @ 1.4 as previously stated..

Are you gonna burp it for comps or daily? If daily, I think you will be happy with 1.4. I mean really, you dont need that much power all day.

Truth. People get caught up in "my amp can do .xxxxxx load" ... but who gives a shit if you cant utilize that for your own enjoyment on a daily level?
