Hey guys,

Haven't posted on here in a long time because I really fell out of the car audio scene.

So just when I decided to put my system back together I pull my Memphis MCD2500 out of the closet and here a noise, like a piece broke off. So I decided to take the cover over and what do we have //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

I was very mad, but I believe the piece that broke is a resistor, so do you guys think this can be an easy fix?

Ehh, an easy fix for someone with a soldering iron and a basic knowledge of how to use it. Probably going to need to replace it though since the leads are probably way to short to use...would involve removing the board though which is always a PITA

As a side note, if you decide to sell it, shoot me a PM, I love Memphis amps...

that big blue thing? that doesnt look like any resistor i have ever seen. that thing must block some serious current. either way there should be numbers on it. try googling them.

Will do, I was guessing it was a resistor or a capacitor //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Punch the part number (should be on the top) into any one of those and you should be able to find it. Doesn't really matter WHAT it is, so long as you replace it with the same part.

If you take some better/closer pics of the print on top of it I can help you look.

Do you have a pair of calipers? Need to know the distance between the leads with as much accuracy as possible. Can't find an exact part match but I found this which provides enough information to find a replacement...

Also measure everything else while your at it (length, height, width)
