Memphis MCD 1100 might be failing. What to replace it with?

Well, lately my Memphis MCD 1000 has been cutting out. First it was only when I turned it really loud now it only goes on about 10% of the time. I have had it for about 5 years, bought it used. Has been a real good amp until now. I have it hooked to 2 diamond audio D6's wired parallel. My question is what amp would you guys recommend me replacing it with? I am certainly not opposed to buying used and would probably buy something off the classified section of this forum since money is tight at the moment.

Just wondering though I checked all connections and all seems to be tight and secure power wire, ground, remote wire are all tightly fastened. Is there anything else I should check before declaring this thing a failed amp and replacing it? This would be going into a 06 Hyundai Sonata. I currently have a JL audio slash 150/2 for my hi/mid's and love that amp. I was actually considering a 500/1 slash series. What would you guys think of that? I know power wise it would be a downgrade from what I currently have.

I have been pretty much out of the loop of the car audio game for quite some time as I have never had any reason to do any research or anything because I was pretty set with the equipment that I had. So, what brands would you guys recommend these days?

I appreciate any and all input!
