Memphis - Kicker

Okay, well I currently have 2 10'' Kicker Comps C104, they are 150 rms @ 4ohms each. running off an old obsolete alpine v12 amp.

I am purchasing 2 12'' Memphis 15-MC124 subs that are 200 rms @ 4ohms and a Memphis 16-PR300.2 amp that is 150 RMSx2 @ 4ohms or 210 RMSx2 @ 2ohms.

I am gettin a great deal from a friend on this Memphis setup and will definitely keep the amp, my question is, would my Kicker Comps that are 6 months old, in great condition or the Memphis M series subs sound the best, its likely they will be lightly underpowered on that 150w from the amp but thats not an issue, would it be best to keep the Memphis subs and sell the Kickers or vise versa, which would sound best? I know that the Memphis ones are larger so more air pushed through them, outside of that, what do you think?

I appreciate the advice!

ok well the 12's will get deeper bass response and more output, the 10's will save you space and be punchier in bass and may not get as deep as the 12's. and when you hook up both of those 12's to that memphis amp, youll runn them at 2 ohms, and each sub will get roughly 150 if its a 300.2. and the box the subs are in are gonna make the most difference in sound as well. run the 12's, ive got one and i love it, id be going crazy if i could fit two of them in the trunk. so id say its a good *** deal

right, but the amp is 600 peak and at 2 ohms it will put out a small amount of wattage more than the subs are rated, possibly causing a blow?

im having touble understanding why 10's are punchier? its more box related correct?

i have a honda prelude so i think i can fit both of them, at least sealed.

peak does not matter. RMS matters. You will not see the amps peak power ever.

no the tens will not be punchier and the 12's wont be deeper.

you will see some more air movement with the 12's which means a little more output. shouldnt be a very noticeable difference but i would definitely consider the memphis 12's to be an improvement over the comps.

if get a ported box you will see a good amount more output for sure.

1. so if i were to run memphis 12's in a ported box at 210 @ 2 ohms when they are rated for 200 it'll be fine?

I figure I will make a ported box for the twelves and just try out both sets for a while each and decide, thats probably my best bet.

2. what are the cons to running them at 2 ohms instead of 4 do i lose cone impedance or...?
