Hey everyone, need a little assistance.

*I've ran a couple Memphis 15's in my car before back when they were the MOJO series, now they are called CM or Cast Mojo's. Just to remove confusion lol*

The new 15" CM's run at 1750w RMS for the Dual 2 or Dual 4 ohm subs. I have interest in their quead ohm series sub though for my new build. The CM15Q1 is a quad ohm sub which runs at 2500w RMS. I asked Memphis and the quads have an 8 layer voice coil, causing a stiffer suspension. Now the power handling is the only difference between the quad and the regular subs, all have the same size magnets.

So my question is, with that additional power handling, is the Quad Ohm sub any louder than the Dual Ohm subs? All with the same box and RMS matching amp.

Thanks!

the change in the coil and suspension will change the way the speaker reacts. so in essence they are completely different besides the motor. now depending on what you want to do the q1 will do you better than the d2. if you are going to be running over 2k to each individual sub id use the q1 but other wise the extra power handling wont help u as the extra power is needed to overcome the stiffer suspension.

to sum it up with the right power and box they should perform the same
