Memphis Audio???

What do u guys think of memphis audio??? A good friend of mine who does some local comps says their a good brand but i have never heard of them.

they are a great brand. a little over priced for what you get but they are good.

the amps are great and the subs are good for spl. they dont sound the best though.

My friend just gave me 4 memphis audio 5x7's. I just tried them out and i like the way the way they sound!

I think memphis is an alright company, I currently run all memphis, from frontstage, to rearfill, subs and amps,,although I wasnt happy with the lower priced versions, the pr series, i changed all up to m class,,,and am very happy I did

Very good company, amps reliable as heck and pack a mean punch in probably some of the smallest chasis in the market

My only beef is that my experience with them @ 2ohms they get very noisy- otherwise great for SPL

No experience w/ their subs/speakers

I think memphis makes great stuff, Their subs seemed to be over priced for an SPL oriented sub however their amps are just great. Tiny in size and comparing my old memphis 500d to a previous JBL 600.1, The memphis wins hands down. Had both of them hooked up in a van and the memphis caused no dimming at full power at all. Got the JBL and it would cut out at high power. Upgraded the Magic three and it stopped cutting out but still dimmed. Memphis also has better crossovers and and dampening factor.

^^^Damping factor cannot be all that great/effective if their class D's have terrible THD to begin with at 4ohms (0.5-0.7%thd)

Again I wouldn't want to use them for SQ

In my specific application the dampening was audible however the THD was not, IE the memphis sounded better than the JBL

not that it matters anyway, hes using their speakers

my experience the amps were great but I have not heard many of their subs so I cant comment
