Memphis audio SCREWED me!

I purchased a couple of memphis audio 4 channel amps off of ebay(both worked great!) I had them both tested and NO problems. Then when I finally got around to installing (about a month later) one of them would blow both internal fuses just as soon as it got power! I called Memphis to see about getting it repaired, NOT WARRANTY, (I was offering to PAY) but guess what? They absolutely 100% REFUSED to repair it because I didnt buy from a dealer!! Who turns down money? this is the biggest load of crap I've ever encountered! I dont understand why, especially with such a "bad" economy, someone would turn down work and money! I have been using Memphis audio for years, and NOW I will NEVER buy their stuff EVER again! Not to mention The woman I talked to was VERY rude to once I said I purchased online.

So just a word to the wise......NEVER tell them you bought anything from ebay or any other online retailer, if you do they will tell you to screww off!! Dont get worked over like I did, go with JL or anybody that is NOT Memphis Audio. I now have a $500 amp that is worthless cause They dont want to fix their own stuff!!

im sure you have to buy authorized retailer, or dealer to get the warranty. which memphis amp is it?

You screwed your self man.Says right on there web site WE WILL NOT HONOR ANY WARRANTY CLAIMS ON PRODUCTS PURCHASED FROM INTERNET SELLERS.

Good amp repair places are out there, and they would probably charge you less than Memphis.

Heck, Zed Audio repairs amps at good prices.

This is 100% your fault and not theirs. Everyone knows you have to buy from an authroized dealer to get a warranty. I've had a memphis amp break and since I bought it from an authorized dealer they repaired it for FREE. That's one of the risks you take when buying online man.

Memphis is HUGE about anti-online sales. I remember when I had a retail store and they wanted us to sell it one of there biggest sales pitches to us was there ANTI- Online sales policys

maybe you could try telling them that you bought it used and that you dont know wether it was purchased online or not

Ive been running Memphis for years and no isues with warranty ! They may be the best in the buisness as far as warranty work goes , but it does say clearly about online orders . There are alot of companies that do the same thing ! Not just Memphis car audio ! Buy from a retailer or pay the consequences !

In that case see if Db-r will repair it for you. They recently fixed an amp for me and did a great job.

Did you explain that you are not asking for warranty work?

They may not do in house repairs without warranty.

Try Amp Repair Center in Ohio as well. They did a good job on my last amp.

the guy clearly said he was willing to pay... he wasnt asking for warranty work..

now granted if he was trying to get it warrantied then too bad for him.. but thats not the case...

They will not repair it as an out of warrent eaither because of the ebay buy.

To get an out of Warrenty repair you need to have the orig recept to send in with it.

out of warrenty repair = pay for the repair
