a couple of us in dillusionz use memphis subs including the last don who is ranked in the top 10 in IASCA in stock 3, and myself and Im happy with my subs. havent heard ID so I wont make statements comparing them. but Im guessing 95 eclipse never heard a memphis sub in a well designed box.

I'm sorry.. but Memphis will blow away ID.. IMO.. both are GREAT companies, but maybe you should actually hear some of their products before you actually judge them for being popular.

I dont think post count makes you right either but general statements about a company sucks with no reasoning behind it makes you wrong end of discussion. the guy probably never heard a memphis sub in his life and was just going by the previous posts of use the ID. The problem with asking is X better than Y is most people answering have never heard both subs to compare them. I never heard a ID sub of any model but I have heard Memphis PRs and have compared them to JL Audio, and Kicker in the same class (size and wattage) and it blew both of them away in SPL, JL had better SQ but the Pr had better SQ than the kicker. and last don is using the big boys and is top 10 ranked. So making a general statement like they **** is ridiculous.

in what aspect? SPL probably but i doubt in SQL. I've heard many a memphis setups (ported and sealed) and didn't like the sound coming out of them. Altho they do get pretty loud don't get me wrong

you can do either way with either sub in sq though id usually have a large sweet spot as far SQ uses which its almost a flip on the memphis but you can get both sounding really good. that green car memphis sets at their booth if you listen to it its pretty sweet at least on the tonal side subs included.

I beg to differ on your Memphis *******. I'm currently running a 2003 Memphis Power Reference 10" as a temporary sub and it sounds **** good. Couple that with the fact that I only paid $60 for it, and WHAZAM. You should be happy with either of your choices. Personally, I'd go IDv3 just because I like the look.

WRONG The IDMAX is pretty much an SQ sub...there was very good output when I had mine, but Ive seen that they dont meter too well.

id subs are more towards sq yet still getting reasonable output////LOTS of output with the IDMAX's

as for memphis..........memphis rocks, anyone who says memphis sucks either saw a shitty install gone way wrong or just doesnt knwo what they are talkign about. memphis subs asound great but are definitly more towards spl than anything else....granted this changes depending on what series subs you get...though if you were to compare each ones flagship subs, idmax is more sq/sql while the memphis mojo's are straight balls to the wall spl to make you crap yourself......

all comes down to what series subs you are chooseing bewtween, if your going for more sq or spl, and what's the best price

IMO either company is a great choice, whateveryou do port the ***** and make you you get someone to design and build a great ported enclosure and you'll be in the gold
