memphis 16mc2500 any good? cant find any info!

Found a memphis 16mc2500 amp **** near mint for 425. But i cant find much info on it. Read that it will run stable at .5 but id like to confirm...i have the electrical to back it but would like to know watt wattage it does on 14.4v at 2 1 and .5ohms and is 425 a good deal?

Yeah $425 for that is pretty good if it is mint. The my are pretty decent amps. Above average. Most people don't run them though because they are so outrageously priced normally. Their 50 watt 2 channel amps run $200. I wouldn't ever pay that.

I do not know if they are .5 stable though. If you have the electrical to support it, I would think it would be ok. As stated in another thread, it won't always see .5. But again, I'm more of an sq guy, so my knowledge of getting to these low impedance levels and that kind of power is limited.

Ok so after talkin to a guy at a local shop he swears up and down that memphis amps r the worst hes ever seen. Says they all fry and cant be fixed...i know this guy is legit hes fixed several amps ive bought fried before. Anyone have anything to back this claim up or deny?

I owned the mc1500 (the newer one) and loved it because of its clarity. I paid 225 for mine off eBay new and sold it for more. I tried mine of stiff electrical at .5 ohm on a dual 1 ohm treo ssx 15 and it did not like it. Seemed pretty efficient, I would definitely give it a try.

That's not true. I've seen several of these amps fixed. There is a big belle one of the newer models on DIYMA right now that the guy had fixed after it messed up and it works fine now he says.

he **** of shit memphis amps the truth and fix able I had the st 500.1 and 2 1500.1 d I fried my 500.1 and paid 300 to refurbished everything
