i think that if this movie is accurate it will shed a bad shadow on the jewish religion (sort of), seeing as the people that crucified christ were jewish. other than people thinking jews are evil, i think it will be an ok movie.

I don't think that this is going to portray the Jewish people in a bad way. Its giving an actual representation of the last 12 hours of Christ's life as its written in the Bible. People fail to remember sometimes that Christ himself was a Jew. The central message, which is missed with the misguided allegations of anti-semitism, is that of Christ's suffering and sacrifice for the redemption of humanity. It can't be missed in the movie, but more likely overlooked. Wy aren't the agnostic and athiesm films given such brash reviews? Because Gibson's belief offends their unbelief? Because this movie is about the most "controversial" figure in history-Jesus himself? Those that condemn Gibson's film with accusations of anti-semitism said nothing about the blasphemous and inaccurate film by Martin Scorcese "The Last Temptation of Christ". Also, as for the allegations that it portrays the Jewish people in a demeaning manner, it also portrays some of the Jewish people pleading for the stoppage of the crucifiction. The people at the crucifiction of Christ weren't there because of their affiliation with their religion or where they came from, they were there with malice and hatred in their hearts. Not directly affiliated with their religious practices. The hatred stemmed from them not recieving Christ and his love. If you read the gospel, you'd know that itis clear in the fact that there were all types of people present at the crucifiction, not just Jewish peoples, or Roman officials. The point thats important to realize is that Christ GAVE his life for the sins of man, not that it was taken from him. At anytime, he could have called upon a host of angels to save him from this. But this was not the devine plan set forth by His Father. I urge those that watch this film, whether Christian, Catholic, Jewish, Protestant, Athiest, whatever to view it with an open mind, and to understand that it is in direct correlation with what happened Biblically.

when -- turns Jesus in for Gold when you hear the scream that is Mel's voice

when - Jesus is nailed to the cross - the hand you see that is doing the nailing that is Mel's hand.

COULD IT BE THAT PEOPLE SAY THIS IS THE MOST GRAPHIC MOVIE OF ALL TIME..

is this due to the fact of who this movie is based on or is it really the most graphic movie of all time??

Plagued the news a few days ago. Interviewed many people in Denver and lots couldnt even know how to comment on the movie.

Mel gave an interview a few days ago as well (probably the night it came out) and said there were strange things that happened on the set. The main actor, was struck by lightning. So I hear.

why to people get all psycho about one little movie. Talking about it being anti-sematic or what ever bull shit . People need to wake up, Its just a movie. The movie planet of the apes says that monkeys are going to rule us one day, and people dont got all puissed off about that.

This is the kinda stuff that makes religious wars. A catholic says something bad about protestants and the next thing you know is they are in a war for like the next 400 hundred years.
