The movie's potrayal of what happened seems to be ok, although I haven't seen it yet.
BUT, as far as the people playing the roles it is a GROSS representation. ABSOLUTELY GROSS.
If any of you have seen the very first images of Jesus and the people of Israel you will know what I mean. They were somewhere between typical African and typical Negro in complexion. And they had hair that was nappy, not straight.
And as far as offending the people called Jews. They aren't even decendants of the ancient tribe of Judah, they are Khazars from Europe.
I'm not mad at Mel, because he probably doesn't know any different, just like majority of America. The picture everyone sees that is SUPPOSED to be Jesus is a man named Ceasar Borgia, son of Pope Alexander the 6th painted by Leonardo and Michaelangelo during the Renisance. Now people just walk around thinking that that was an accurate display of Jesus' appearance, when really everyone is looking at an Italian.
I like Mel's hart in wanting to portray how it happened, being a believer in Jesus, but I hope the film flops and gets no money whatsoever. I have yet to see an ALL AROUND accurate portrayal of those events.
