Mecury Marauder or Impala SS

I have a marauder. I dont really take it out to drag it or race it, but im pretty sure it will give a impala SS a run for its money. I am a chevy guy so I am in no way biased (a bit contradicting i no).

yea, they just assume since its older its far un-superior to a LS1, just because the LS1's heads flow better stock for stock, most are newbs that dont understand the importance of matched heads and cam, they just assume the more lope the better. so they throw the cam in their ls1 and assume its the baddest mofo ever. Then get pissed when they get smoked by a LT1 car with heads/cam and stall. A heads cam lt1 and heads cam ls1 are in the same playing field, newbs see a number and don't understand this... Its like thinking a old school 350 done up right can not make the same power as a LS1 done up just as nicely. They both can only make up to a certain amount of power untill they need more ci.... no replacement for displacement, which is why I would take a bet that the DOHC 4.6 could never make the kind of power that a LT-1 could NA.

its basically a souped up crown vic.

I think the impala SS is f'n BA, but I'm more of a ford guy.

the 4.6l V8 is a very very very very reliable motor.

stock for stock its a good race

bolts on its another story, hell an impala with just 3.73's vs a bolt on marauder is a good run.

I got beat by muarader one time, but i had 3 people in the car and 20's on it, the only bolt on worth a **** I had was a 2800 stall... I still have the shitty 3.08's - the muaraders are quick for the price and size, but they just aren't in the same ball park as the impala as far as being a classic and more widely appriciated one day, its a car thats going to be worth alot one day. but thats coming from an impala owner

I will give it this though, Muarader interior > Impala Interior as far build quality goes, but then again its a merc, and the fleetwood int > the muarader

i agree..i love the impala..I would have got one, but didnt want a car with a shitload of miles on it.... Found a marauder with 22k miles on it. So i got it.
