Mechanical noise

Thanks, man. I know my shit isn't the best, but I still try to not knock it too badly. Honestly, it performs well for what it is.

A misaligned, deformed or unwound coil will usually make noise at almost any volume level. Torn suspension will many times only be noticable at high excursion levels (although definitely not always).

If I get some extra time between work, school, projects, homework, and sleep, I'll pull them out and examine the suspension on them. Hopefully it's not the case and something else is rattling in my trunk, but if it is, it's all the more reason to upgrade.

Pull them out and run them free-air (carefully) to look for/listen for any mechanical noises. Good luck, let us know what turns up.

Hmm... Everything was alright with them after testing them out with a DMM, a physical inspection, and free air testing. I must be hearing something else inside the trunk making the noise.

Upon further inspection today, the sound I'm hearing is my cold cathode lighting rattling in the trunk. They didn't rattle in their tubes when I first got them, but I guess after a couple of years of vibrations, they begin to rattle. All that worry and "work" for nothing, I guess.
