mechanical camera question...

I got a digi cam that when i was changing batteries in it before the screen went black and wont show a picture now... i took it apart and looked at the internal and i dont see anything wrong. Yall know if it has a button that would do that as a protection mode or somethin? or anything for me to look at eternally?
