mech alt died

I think alt has fallen off, its idling @13.0 it was at like 14.8 and the battery low light came one tonite while subing pretty hard, its also started to make a whine thru the subs, when i desconnect the pos of the alt whine stops. The stock volt meter use to read almost max'd out now it only reads like half way - three quarter @ 2000rpm. anyinput appreciated but i think im calling mech tommorow.

Ya, you may have over heated it or blew a stator or diode.

That's my guess.

well the ext volt reg was weaird to. it would keep flooting the volage for 13v - 15.3 no matter what i did. i had it set two 15.3

Any alt should be able to be converted to ext regulated. They just take out the internal.
