MECA rule changes 2012/2013

I have a feeling we will be seeing a lot more SAZ1500s in the lower classes. The rules dont really seem to affect me at all, but maybe in the future when I upgrade.
You will see a few, but there are other amps that will be used much much more. As with any org that uses amp ratings you will see that each classes will only have 3-4 different amps that the "winners" will all run.

So wait- theres no fuses involved in 2012? Just what the amp has been rated for from the factory?
And what about manufacturers who only rate the amp at 12.5v? And what about amps that are run below 1 ohm but are only rated down to 1 ohm?
NO, they are still using fuses in 2012, everything is the same this year, they have just put a cap on power in the lower classes,

(fuses will be history in 2013)

I have no clue how the are going to certify amplifiers power for the cap

Welcome to the world of amp ratings for classes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/sneaky.gif.7189749b3a3f769e8815b47e8ae87f88.gif
Just like the good old days huh?

Wonder if we'll see big amps rated at 2w like Orion used to do.

So now amp companies will just underrate their amps again like in the old days. I personally think meca is stupid for doing this. The fuse rating is the only way to regulate actual power //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif. Stupidity.

Edit: I suppose efficiency is more ideal now. But if there reasoning is to keep cost down to competitors then why do this? Companies are just going to come out with underrated amps that say 1500rms, but have the price tag and power output of a 2000rms amp..

My amp rating is 1750 (83.6v) @ 4 ohms 14.4 volt. I metered my voltage at teh speaker and is is set at 66 volts. the ohm is 1, so I am only pulling 66 amps. I think thats right @ 4500w

When has MECA ever done anything smart? They still can't even promote their shows to save their life.

Oh, and i've retired too so I don't care what they do anymore. If I compete anywhere, its in the FCBC League and just for the hell of it even at that.

But hey, I guess this is good news for Harrison Labs selling the Drag Queen again //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
