Measuring Port Length

I want to know the correct way to measure the length of a slot port. I could post up a box design and ask how long the port is, and i guarantee you i would get at least 3 different answers. What is the "official" way to do it.

Here is a great diagram my buddy hector (PowerNAudio) created. You could learn something from it. The mistake that most people do, is measure it by the actual wall. But that is wrong. You will need to find the length of the port by measuring the middle of the port opening. Check it out:

Thanks guys, that what i use. I posted a plan up for a guy a little while back, and someone gave me a different length for it. I couldnt figure out where he got that length from, so that's why i asked.
