Measured ohms today, all over the place.

Today i went out and measure the ohms for all 3 of my speaker hookups to try to solve a heat issue(2front, 1sub). Front left 3ohms, front right -24ohms, sub 8ohms. Ok my speakers are pg rsds, and a kicker cvr 12 2ohm wired in series. My amp is a cadence 6004, channels 1 and 2 are for the comps, 3 and 4 are bridged to the sub.

My issue is why are my ohms nowhere near the 4ohms they should all be reading. My dmm adds a natural .8ohms resistance that i measure just touching the two wires. But still even with a subpar dmm, this is way off. What could cause the -24 measurement, first off the negative is weird, and i know its hooked up right, and second, the 24 measurement. I measured both at the amp and at the crossover input wires, both measurements were the same for both fronts.

One thing to mention, this is when the amp was cold from overnight and i didnt let it heat up before measuring more, i have no idea if this will affect it. The main thing i can understand is why one front is getting almost correct, but the other front is so different.

Ok i tried it again with it hot, didnt do anything to the original measurements.

Next step i disconnected the input to the crossover and hooked up some old coaxials i had lying around, same issue left getting 3, right getting like -20 this time.

Next step i wanted to rule out the wire going to the crossover as being an issue. So i switched the left and right channels, same issue -20 going to the one that previously was 3 before the switch.

Ive pretty much ruled it out as down to the amp on channel 2 being borked or something. Does anyone know what would cause this, and should i talk to cadence about a replacement?

the meter tries to put a small current through the speaker. if you tap on the speaker, the reading will go all over the place.

likewise, if the amplifier is connected at the same time, the reading will not be accurate. especially if the amplifier is active.

Ok so to properly measure i should disconnect the speaker leads before measuring?

I wonder what could cause it to get hot enough to pretty much burn my hand if i touch it, unless maybe they are supposed to run this hot, i emailed cadence to check and they are slow as crap to email back.
