Today i went out and measure the ohms for all 3 of my speaker hookups to try to solve a heat issue(2front, 1sub). Front left 3ohms, front right -24ohms, sub 8ohms. Ok my speakers are pg rsds, and a kicker cvr 12 2ohm wired in series. My amp is a cadence 6004, channels 1 and 2 are for the comps, 3 and 4 are bridged to the sub.
My issue is why are my ohms nowhere near the 4ohms they should all be reading. My dmm adds a natural .8ohms resistance that i measure just touching the two wires. But still even with a subpar dmm, this is way off. What could cause the -24 measurement, first off the negative is weird, and i know its hooked up right, and second, the 24 measurement. I measured both at the amp and at the crossover input wires, both measurements were the same for both fronts.
One thing to mention, this is when the amp was cold from overnight and i didnt let it heat up before measuring more, i have no idea if this will affect it. The main thing i can understand is why one front is getting almost correct, but the other front is so different.
