MDF Splits!! Pics*

could be a few things...

wrong size drill bit, hole not deep enough, too close to the edge, overtightening the screws, etc.. biggest mistake though would be disassembling the box. once a box is built--it's built.

btw, i also recommend countersinking the screws.

good lord, WHEN will people learn. It seems every screw|glue thread ends up the same. I've repeatedly said screws in boxes AREN'T NECESSARY. Now you know why. I hope others see this and realize you don't need wood screws in a clean cut MDF box.

you can use screws if you dont have air for a crown stapler.
