MDF Rings question

In addition to what Jeremy already said, MDF is much more non-resonant than other materias that speakers are mounted to, like thin sheet metal and flimsy plastic spacers. In offers a better, more neutral base for the speakers to work with.

what if i cover the area with dynamat including the area that the speaker will be mounted and mount the speaker on top of the dynamat. will it still be a significant difference than using mdf rings? i'm having some issues with clearance by using the mdf rings so i'm trying to find an alternative

I don't want to create another thread so I will ask it here..

Im doing a diy and need help on what type of screws can I use to mount the MDF rings to the metal door?

So, its either Drywall screws or selftapping sheetmetal screws.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
