MB Quart

I'm looking to buy all MB Quart speakers for my car. I've heard many good things about MB Quart and have decided on the DSE-216 componets and the DKD-116 coaxials. I'd be pushing them with a Phoenix GOld-Octane-R 5.0:4 amp. Has anyone had these speakers before and is there a better choice out there for around the same price. I'm paying 99.90 for the DKD-116 and 119.90 for the DSE-216. Thanks for the help!

my dad is got some new mb quart top of the lines. b4 he messed with the equalizer, those things pierced my ears big time.

Its not just MB Quart tweeters, all metal dome tweets can be harsh. But with some eq they are nice.

Have you auditioned the speakers you plan on buying? I'd at least try to hear them on a board first, it might give you some idea on how they sound. I personally like MBQ, but it's not for everyone.

The new line has a lower xover point which has been said to take away the harshness.

If you don't mind ebay, I got a pair of RSC213s for 100.00, just look around.

alright thanks guys i think im gonna go with the quarts but iveheard alpine type-rs and they dont sound bad either, im kinda stuck between the two

Its not just MB Quart tweeters, all metal dome tweets can be harsh. But with some eq they are nice.

Some soft dome ( DLS ) tweeters are even harsh.

Good ol eq fixed that right up

I have 2 sets of discus coax's. The tweeters are a LITTLE harsh, i have no eq, but when you mess around with the HU's eq it gets a little better. They sound AWESOME though. For the price they can't be beat, imo.

My friend and I just put a set of the reference 6.5 comp. in his car, they are alot less harsh, not even saying mine are. The Ref. Comps are really nice, not that much either, and can play alot louder than my coax's, which they should.

I reccommend any type of mb product.

I am also running a set of their 12" subs, which have the best SQ i've heard.

i dont think i could even make my silks sound harsh if i wanted to

the old infinity's on the other hand.....those were a nightmare
