MB Quart to ??? Rainbows??

Okay I am new hear and for the last 4 years I have been running MQ Quart Q216 series in my vehicles. I had a different line many years ago but the highs were not bright enough and I love the MB Quarts. Having said that I am told from several shops they have changed ownership a couple times so stay away. While that might be true I do love them so do I get them or everyone seems to be hot and heavy for Rainbows so are the very bright? Which is the best Rainbows and where on the east coast do I get them? Any other suggestions and why? The new MB Quarts are like a 1000 a pair and I need 2 pair so price really isn't an issue.

The Vanadiums are certainly bright and detailed and can rip your head off in a given install. They just have a smoother rolloff up top that make them more enjoyable to listen to. I feel they have a similar midrange quality, yet more stout midbass vs the Q's.

My quarts in my ride were never ear piercing. But as i do notice my tweeters look like the discuss design with Q drivers. I have some old schoolers: D Possibly a better tweeter i dont know.

The era where Quartz reined in the lanes is long ago. Rainbow barely entered the US Market ~'02-'03, as of of yet has still to do so full strength. So for a long established product in the US, of course MBQ has more track record in the US comp scene. Go to Finland, Madrid, Belgium, Malaysia &Singapora in both ISACA and EMMA soundoffs rainbow has had many national winners past few years.

They are both quality products. Rainbow just has more versatile offerings, and a wider higher end product line.

I am not entering my vehicles in shows. I like quality. Do I want a 10K pair of speakers, no. But I son't mind spending 10K on a system for my vehicles. My 2003 Harley was probably 6000, my 2005 vette cost me 8000 and my 2007 I am guessing will run me 10,000 so I want a good sounding quality system but not some concert hall.

Winning an autosound competition comes down to many other variables...A good installer/tuner can polish many a turd..(generally speaking)

My Rainbow Garmaniums that I had installed a few days ago were initially one of the brightest setups I've ever had in one of my cars. This is just because of the tweeter position though... they're in the factory location above the mids and are angled inward so they're higher and more on-axis than the mids. The crossovers are pretty flexible though so between them and the equalizer I was able to get it to a level I enjoy more. I haven't heard the newer MB Quart Q's but I owned a couple older Premium line models and I like the Germaniums a lot more. They're just as detailed and have much more mid-bass impact than the Quarts I owned.

$10,000 is a lot of money for a system. If you spend some of that money on a quality install and some processing it should pretty much sound however you want it to. What kind of car?
