What does everyone think about these subs? I have a rwe 302 that has broken tinsel leads , I think the coil is ok, but idk. These were made in the U.S.A by Rockford Fosgate . I loved mine when it ran, awesome sq and it got loud as heck. Louder and better sounding than my type-r. Anyways, are these as good as the dayton ho for sq. I knew they were good for sq back then , but i don't know how they compare now to more recent ones. These are available now for like $60 now , they used to be very expensive when they were new.

I still think they are smexy looking.

I've heard great things about those subs. If your main goal is more of an SQ setup, then go with whichever is cheaper. From what i've learned from reading around on diyma and on this forum, when doing an SQ setup, the sub, as long as its clean with good low end extension isnt too huge of a factor in SQ as opposed to your mids, highs and midbass ofcourse.

Seriousy people used to recomend these alot, I know some old timers know about these. I really just want to know if these are better or wose than the dayton ho.

I don't have any experience with the Dayton, but had a that 12" MB Quart PWE in my old Eclipse and loved it. Pushed it with a JL 500/1 and was really happy with the SQ. I'm in the market for a 10 right now and wouldn't mind getting my handles on one.

I guees they were $80

Also found this bit about them on another forum."They were made by MB Quart GmbH in Germany at the MB Quart manufacturing facility and designed by MB Quart engineers. At the time, Rockford Corporation owned the manufacturing plant, but that's the extent of the "commonality".

"The documentation was done by MB Quart and Rockford Corporate tech support was informed that the recommendations in the manual are the "optimum" box designs"

I dont think they could be any worse than the Daytons. I think people recommended them a lot because they sold for pretty cheap and worked well in small sealed boxes.
The daytons do very well musically with all diff types of music. SPL....no!!! wouldnt even call it an SQL sub. But as far as SQ goes, they do very well. The price is just an added bonus.
