hey.. anyone had any experience with these? I could pick one up for 550$. Its got a 5 speed v6 dohc.. its got 190k miles i believe.. its a 5 speed, but reverse is out. I can also get a 240sx 1990 5 speed for 500 bucks with 130k miles on it.. What would you guys do?

thanks guys.. the 240 is pretty much in IMMACULATE condition. its a 1990 5 speed SOHC, Red exterior. Has a damaged fender $65, only 130k miles!!!! One problem though.. and i dont know how big of a problem it would be.. The head gasket was replaced.. for some reason, and it was put on backwards.. if it can even be put on backwards.. and that exposed something concerned with oil let water get into the oil pan. The guy said that it had ran, shiften, and drove fine.. so i dont know why he would replace a headgastet.. Anyways, if i went the 240 route i would be buying a sr20 which is about 2200-2800, but that includes the complete engine, intercooler, turbo, downpipes, transmission.. pretty much everything you need for the swap... and i would prolly also repaint it either a midnight blue or jet black. the mx6 is missing reverse.. and the paint is pretty much shot, and part of the dash is red.. when the rest is black.. it looks like someone started doing something to it then stopped. If i got the 240's id be the third 240 in the parking lot at my school =D but the one that i would drive would be the best looking... and if i get the 240 im putting my RE HC in there in a crx box... LOUD...

 
get the 240, if your swapping everything out the condition of the motor is pretty much irrelivant assuming it gets you around till you swap it. BUT! if you put a wing on there ill fucking murder your ass

There's a 240 floating around my town, Eugenics - nicely done for the most part...pretty sweet rims, lowered, really nice paint and whatnot - from as quick as I've seen him flying up LA Hwy 1 there's likely a considerable amount of motor work done as well. So, like I say, for the most part a pretty sweet ride. Until you look at the tailend of it and notice this freggin airplane-looking wing that is as tall as the roofline and a couple of inches wider on either side than the car! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/furious.gif.fc81ca146dbff91fede3ed290dbc4f4c.gif Terrible, I say....just terrible...

 
yeah, it was like that in my town, hondas had it the worst. I had a 2 door 96 accord, with a H22, all motor setup, coilovers everything, looked stock from the outside minus the stance and wheels. and used to burn those little ***** civic si's and every other ricer out there... and then i'd go kill the mustang GT's... yea, lol the last thing i would put on is a big gaudy wing.. if i were to put anything on it it would be a low profile spoiler.. and i have no clue whether it runs or not.. supposedly all i have to do is put the headgasket on the right way and change the oil
