mazda 6 electrical probs?

I have an 04 mazda 6 with the premium bose system. I believe the stock alt is 160 amp??? could be wrong on this one tho. In the trunk I have a JL 500/1v2 powering a RE se15, when playin a bass heavy song my lights dim pretty good, I'm seeing voltage drops as low as like 12.5 or .6. I havent gotten around to doing the entire big 3, I have only upgraded battery to chassis. (ground) aside from the other two wiring upgrades is there anything else I should do/check to try and fix this problem?? Thanks ahead of time.

is that readying with the car on? what are you using to get this reading? also what size power/ground wire are you using

Thats a big stock alt. Big 3 done all in 1/0 should complement it nicely.

ummm, that number for the stock alternator is WAY HIGH. If you have the 6i (4cyl) it is a 90Amp alternator. If you have a 6s(6cyl) you have a 110 Amp alternator.

My 6s never had dimming problems with 4k watts. I also had a huge battery in the trunk and 6 runs of 1/0 from the alternator to the battery. and I had HID's. My voltage would fall into the mid 11's.

There is no alternator upgrade available that will work. The ECU Controls every aspect of the car.

Like i said i could be wrong about my alt, idk how many watts the OEM bose amp is puttin out but I would assume that would contribute to the lights dimming. I have 2ga wire running from the batt to the back, no batt in the trunk and a normal batt up front. That reading I gave was with the car running.

The stock alt on the 4cyl is a 90amp and the v6 has 110 amp. Do Not bother getting an alt for this car, the voltage is regulated to 13.7v in the ecu, you Cant override it either. Just get a lot of batteries. Basically repeating everything Mike Troll said.....
