Mazda 323 96' Headunit Removal

Hi, im trying to install a new headunit im my 1996 Mazda 323, ive pulled the dash basically completely apart trying to figure out how to remove the old one. There is a kind of plastic faceplate covering the headunit area of the dash and i think it could be as simple as just pulling this off, there are a few plastic lugs in the top of this plate but the bottom feels pretty firmly stuck on, and i dont want to pull to hard and break the little plastic catches/screw brackets. Just wondering whether anybody has had any experience with removing a headunit from this car and whether it really is as simple as pulling the faceplate off? I will try and add a picture to clarify
