Maxxlink MX-100 without multiple subwoofers

I just want to use the Maxxlink as a means for adjusting my single amp's subsonic, lpf, etc..

I've hooked it up like this: HU RCA to MLX Input. MLX Output RCA to Amplifier INPUT.

The amp works fine. However, no matter what I do to the MLX, it doesn't affect the amplifier at all.. I still have to manually adjust the amp to get any changes.

Am I doing something wrong here?
