strapped you can do 4 ohm or 1 ohm or running each amp sepertate you can wire .5 ohm or

2 ohm load

If he needs more power 8 recones to D1's would be the way to go = )

The Maxx-Link doesn't automatically strap the amps. Technically all the Maxx-Link does (as far as strapping is concerned) is send a 180* signal to the slave amps if you choose to use it that way but you don't have to. He needs to leave the subs hooked up exactly the way it is and only use the + side of the Maxx-Link for the rcas just like Andrew said.
