I had ~700 a piece on mine and they were never warm to the touch, never smelled anything, and sounded great.

im far from the problem, just cause i couldnt keep a coil in mine, doesnt mean much theyre 100 a pair subs give it a break....lol..... and that was also about 5 yrs ago with the first xe's they cut me off when they switched..lol......... i dunno i just tried to help out a shop and that was the very last time i let anyone ever touch my system..... im waaay beyond ma now........lol.....

do u even know wat sub he's talking about? He's not talking about MA Audio subs. Maw-15 is from Mach5 http://www.mach5audio.com

maw was i believe one down from the xe which wasnt a bad sub for a month or 2 we tried to get 4 in my car but never made it past 2...lol.... the shop gave me a hell of a deal but nothin ever really got done ...... basically what it came donw to they kept sayin i was messing with the amp, they wanted to set it up they did , about 6 or 8 times....lol.... then it just got out of hand and i made them give me concept cxt or somethin thier big ones.. and sold them ive had dd ever since with no problems........

ok so maybe i do just like to turn it up to loud....lol..... but , noone like to pop thier shit everytime its up , basically buy quality stuff or dont expect it to last if your goin to beat the hell outta it..... i dont have trouble running 2krms per coil with what i got now........

yea well ur thinking of the wrong sub probably. I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about the MAW-15 from mach5. But if he's not then, well, he should be.
