Alright, so if to set my gains is SqRoot of watts times ohms. Ex. I want 1000 watts, I would do Sqroot(1000x2)...which would be 44.72, correct?
But to my question at hand, if I did the oppisite, without knowing what watts but what sounds best, would the watts I found from doing the equation, Voltage squared divded by ohms to figure out my watts, EX. (44.72x44.72)/2 , which equals roughly 1000watts, would that be my PEAK watts, or my RMS watts.
I have heard both sides, I am leaning towards it is my PEAK watts because I know on music my voltage never becomes that high. And if it is, is there any way to figure out my RMS watts without a O-scope?
