Whats wrong with sand? That's what we use. Works good and doesn't fack up yer vehicle......but then again, I guess Canada don't know shiat about winter.

Yeah. the only time they put sand down here is when they run out of salt. It works pretty good too.

Gotta be careful where you use sand though. I'd imagine over time it would start to build up and would clog drainage systems.

Well, we just use street sweepers in the spring. Collect it all back up for reuse later.

alot of middle and western states use sand. problem with sand is, it just sits on top of the snow doesn't melt it like salt does, so there's always a constant build up on the roads. every state should take lessons from utah. they're roads are spotless.
