Hey guys, I don't know how many of you might know about the marine audio end but, my father's boat's stereo works but no longer plays out of the speakers, this happened after the bilge was replaced so i'm assuming one of the connectors was just never put back together.

Therefore I decided I might just install a higher end system in his boat, problem is, how the hell can I run wires when everything is fiberglass?

His boat is a four winns horizon 170 LE, I can't find any diagrams for boats online because of course, boat audio is not the most popular thing out there :p

I figured I would install a new head unit, a single 5 or 7 channel amp to power 4 or 6 speakers with one output for a sub and add two speakers somewhere

can anyone help me with this dilemma? thanks

First off, the marine environment is a very hostile place for electrical connections. Probably corrosion. Take speakers and headunit out and gently tug on existing speaker wires, you may get lucky and see the wire move at one end. If so you can use the old wire to pull the new wire in. If not //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif , you'll have to get creative. There is a product for protecting electrical cords running across carpets in houses and such. I think "Wiremold" makes it. Lowes or Home Depot should have it. It is made of rubber/plastic and can be glued down to boat floor. It is low profile, so you won't trip on it. If If that will not work for you, try using the gunwales to route your wires. If that doesn't work you'll have to do some cutting ,drilling, wire fishing, and fiberglass repair/patch work. Hope this helps:cool:
