Manual/instruction on installing a head unit

So im completely new to upgrading my cars audio system.

I plan on buying a alpine 9887 and was wondering if there was anything availble that could provide instruction on how to install it.

Also on crutchfield they list a "wiring harness" - Honda/Acura/Suzuki Receiver Wire Harness For select Honda, Acura, and Suzuki models, 1998-up at Crutchfield.com

Is that necessary or can i install it without it. Im already over my budget so i dont want to invest any more money

It's possible to do it without a wiring harness but you'd have to cut into the stock wiring. It's only $12 and if you cheap out on it now, you'll regret it later.

As for how to actually install it, that's not all that difficult. Taking your dash apart is very vehicle specific but once you get that far it's just a matter of connecting the wires.

buy the harness. crutchfield will sed you install instructions also.

Get the harness. It will save you TONS of time and even more if/when you get a new deck. You can use the same harness and the wire colors will still match up. It just makes everything easier and you feel warm and fuzzy knowing it's done right.
