Making my ports

Okay, I bought some PVC piping as I heard it was good to use for ports. I cut it to the appropriate length, 4" wide and 6.5" long. Is there anything I should do to it to make it sound its best? or should I just plug n' play?

also since i'm at it, is there a site or tutorial that anyone knows of on how to cover a box with carpeting?

thanks man. Hey also, what can I do to make the port look nice? I don't want to just have a tube sticking in the box

invest in a router and a blade that can make you ports flare, this is also great for rounding all corners on you box.
