dose anyone have any pro's / con's on makeing ur own rca's verse just buying a high quality set??

my buddy want's to make his own set of rca's. i said it would be a good question for CA.com

only real pro imo is that you can make them to whatever lengths you need. Plenty of guys over on diyma do this all the time.

i think other then that. you can throw a ground wire in line with rca's and help protect against ground loops.

Lol, heck yeah.

Anyway, yeah, it would be nice to be able to make them cut to fit, but at the same time, all those guys on diy make them outta connectors that are like 30 bucks a piece, I can't justify spending that much on rca's but if it is cheaper than buying some with similar connectors, then go for it. Just do it right....

I'm not sure that adding a ground to it would be necessary?

the cost of "GOOD" custom RCAs vs premade rcas is a lot higher.

To build a good set of rcas you will need HIGH END ends, that will be 30/40 dollars per end and a good wire you don't want to just use remote wire lol

it the other way around.

yes u can have rca ends that range up to 30 to 40 dollars per pair.

but honestly the benefit of making rca's

are

1. custom length

2. nicer cable for price compared to pre made stinger etc... U can acquire canare star quad for around .46 cents a foot.

3. rca ends can be had for about 10$ for 4 individual locking rca ends. which are very very nice.

Id say this. i a member of diyma. while i dont or havnt made my own rcas.

my next rcas will be made.

well he's got some high end RF rca end's

he is going to make his own.

plan's on useing stinger 18ga primery wire's. or is there something else out there that would be better?
