Ok, gonna be running a 3kwrms system, one battery in the trunk, 200 amp alt. So my plan is to use my 2 awg that is my power wire right now to do the big 3 with. And then just have a run of 1/0 going back to the battery in the trunk for power, fused of course. The 2awg should be fine for the big 3 right? None of those have to be that long so I figured it should be NBD.

The other thing I am wondering is if it would be worth it to do a run from the battery in the trunks ground to my under the hood batteries ground. That helps eliminate some voltage drop right? Is it worth it? And would it be ill-advised to do the ground run with 2 awg instead of 1/0? (if i also still ground it to the chasis too).

Run 0 gauge for your batteries and big 3, Why not go ahead and go the biggest to begin with instead of having to change it.
agree

don't take a shortcut, it will come back to bite you in the asz in the long run.. you KNOW you'll be upgrading at some point right!?? and if not, i'm telling you, yes you will

Well I'm not planning on having this car for to long, but I plan on transferring the system to whatever new car I hopefully buy this summer, so ya might as well not cut corners.

One thing I do know, is that I will never be upgrading past a 200 amp alternator, because I don't want to have to do special brackets or anything. But then again, if i get a new car there may be an option to go 300-350 amp alternator w/o any custom brackets //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

I'll do it all in 1/0

nah, the chassis can carry way more current than a wire so just ground each batt to the chassis and make sure you have really clean, solid connections
