Right now i have a 12" Q off about 1000 watts, but iim thinking of trying some new for a little bit and im pretty i hear alot about mags on this forum but never really did any research. I do remeber people saying that they got LOUD and sounded good.

Now my question is, can someone send me in the right direction as to where to read about them/their website?

I have searched on good for SI magnum subwoofer to no avail other than more forums with people who dont seem to know what they are talking about and for some reason my search buttom wont load more than a white screen or i'd try it.

thanks

alright thanks...and could u guys also give me an idea of how much RMS wattage i can look at running to like one 12? i know the website says 900 but im wondering if its under rated or not basically

you wont see much gain output wise, if any, switching from the Q to a mag //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif.

waste of money IMO.

theres no reason to put more than 1100-1200 on a mag...especially ported.

i disagree, they will handle upwards of 1400 RMS unclipped... a sundown 1500 per woofer does nicely... if you want to gain in output i would suggest dropping a DD 3512 in 2.25 cubes tuned to 36 with 45in^2 of port area... oh and grab at least 2KW

Dumb idea to follow any advise in this post...

I hope you like smelly coils and shortened life expectancy of the mag.

well honestly i wouldnt be pushing more than 1200 to a mag if i were to get one, but i would try to hit 1000 can im in not financial state to clip the hell out of then ruin one lol

Output isn't everything. In my limited experience with the Q, I found the mag to be a much better sounding driver. Output difference was negligible ( .1db )

I used to run 2kw to mine in an spl setup, so there is a good reason to run more //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

A 1500d is a really good match for the si mag, a quality amp with a lot of head room. You dont have to use all of the power from the amp all the time. I know for a fact a pair of mags can handle 5kw for about 30 secs before getting smelly under ideal circumstances. The average consumer should not push past 1100 watts imo.
