its not necessarily about how much power he is feeeding, more so what kind of power, clipped signal can kill any sub off any power....

the gain was set with a friends dmm

any bass boost used? what was the low pass set at

bass boost at +0 on the alpine so none. equalizer was flat. low pass was set to 120. sometimes i would lower to 80. this is the old claw basket so im guessing maybe it wasnt any settings it was actually just the fact that it was used so much

low pass was set a bit high but that is ok, was the subwoofer sealed? i doubt the fact that it was used too much would mess it up like this, who knows there are many random factors that could have happened to it that u are unaware of, i say just glue it up for now until u can get a recone.

ive decided im gonna sell the mag as is to anyone that is wiling to wait and get a recone for themselves. as of now the system is set to be 2 15" sx's powered by the viper 2500.1

Yea, its the old claw basekts but before i sold it to you i told you i barely pushed it....900W. It was in and out of my car due to me either installing other items. and not making up my mind on what i was wanting. So i really doubt if it was due to the fact that it was pushed hard. and again, im sorry that that happened to you

no worries i was just thinking since it was older that someone had it before you, since i dont remember our conversation word for word. it was probably somethign i did wrong then, that i just cant pin point.

i used my claws for SPL and have had no problems... i must say that youre problem is somewhat of an anomalie... mine have all been through hell and the only issues i have had was 1 spider landing, and 1 dustcap. and that was out of 4 woofers that are still going through HEAVY usage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

oh, i just didnt want you feeling like i done you wrong in any way....Or you feel like you wasted money. Because when i had it, everything was perfect. (as i promised, im doing my best to be a good reputable person to do business with) and i wish i could do more to assist you. well, i have seen and heard the brutus 1500d in action and it reminded of the dirty nasty way in which EQ D3's sound. eeeeeeeeeeeewwww. they just sound nasty. i heard one on a Mag 12" and didnt like it at all. sounded dirty.

not saying its the amps fault, i just dont like the brutus's

first of all amplifiers do not SOUND anything. there is obviously an install problem. and a mag sounding dirty, well, again....there is obviously an install problem. the magnum is one of the best subwoofers ive ever heard and used, otherwise i wouldnt be using one. i wouldve used an IDmax to go along with the rest of my stuff but that mag topps it, and the brahma/XXX, and a w7 with its nasty thudding.

The sound of an amplifier is a combination of noise and distortion, for better (tube amps) or worse (cheap amps).
