yea i emailed nick and am askin him if it would be ok to glue it for now until SI will start doing recones and selling the subs again. well see what he says. if he advises against it, then thats it. ill be bassless for a while. anyways as for how it happend...i have no clue. pretty gay if you ask me, but shit happens so what can you do?

nail polish works on small holes... you are way beyond that though. about the only thing i can really think of is duco cement, or straight up rubber cement. and those are purely temporary fixes

well youre best bet might actually be to get a temporary sub... could be anything, look at best buy for open items or get something off of ebay... nick lives right down the street from me, and he doesent get much time on the forums like i do. it could be a little while until he gets re-cones in. i know thats not what you want to hear, but thats all i can tell you. look around online or in stores for a cheap 12 to fill its place for a while, because playing that is just going to worsen it and sound bad...

well i HAVE been lookin around for another mag. of course it has to be in good condition and all that. if i buy another one now then it can replace the one thats injured lol and when i can get it reconed i can have the setup i have been thinkin of lately...2 mags on a viper 2500.1. of course this means i would need to sell my hifonics bx1500 and get a new alternator. but i am thinkin of gettin a new car so i dont know if it would even be worth to buy an alternator for this car if i would need a new one as soon as i get a different car. suggestions?

btw: anyone wanna buy a hifonics bx1500 d? 2 months of use on it.

i saw it but i am afraid to purchase it due to the fact that it was used in spl competitions. ive never been to one, but i am assuming they stress those subs to the max. i dont want to buy a sub thats gonna fall apart due to the stresses of the spl comps.

some subs can be burped like its nothing and still be in great mechanical working order... just ask the guy how many comps and maybe how many burps he has attempted. if its not too many you should be ok.

How much rms power were you sending it and is it in a ported box?

dude, how much power were you feeding this thing, what box and most importantly, what amp? i have fed magnums around 1800RMS daily for quite a while and they are unbreakable.

the setup is in my sig, box, amp and everything. i was giving it less than 1500 watts since my electrical system doesnt run 14.4. i bought the sub used. its the claw basket so i dont know how old it was but its over a year thats for sure so im guessing that had somethign to do with it, altho i have read that some of the older claw mags did the same thing to other people, maybe we just got unluckly idk. only bottomed out the sub twice when the box i built for it was a little too big. with the box i had now it was perfect.

its not necessarily about how much power he is feeeding, more so what kind of power, clipped signal can kill any sub off any power....
