magnetic question

say i have one 7/16" O.D magnets and a 7/16 copper disk housed inside a 1/2" I.D aluminum tube. if i apply voltage to the copper disk it should become a magnet and atract to the magnet in the bottom of the tube. but if i reverse the polarity it should repel correct?

i basically making a magnetic actuator
