magnet weight ?

what importance does a magnet weight play in the role of subs .
How much the subwoofer weighs.

for example the bigger the magnet the better capablities a subwoofer may have .
Nope.

The weight of the subwoofer magnet has literally no impact on the performance of the subwoofer, and you can not look at the magnet size/weight and determine anything about the subwoofer or use it as a matter of comparison (i.e. a subwoofer with a smaller magnet isn't inherently worse than a subwoofer with a larger magnet).

i dont ask to determine what sub i should buy but more curious why some companies use bigger mags then others

Oh my bad, its a marketing thing I guess. A person who is looking for subs who has little knowledge would automatically assume a bigger magnet means bigger bump. One analogy we can make are tits :boobies: , the ones that are big are obviously going sell better since they look like they can do more as compared to one's that are smaller. Both do the same job equally well, in this example it would be milk instead of gauss. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

.............and the question im leading up to is what are the important facts of determining a sub. i dont expect you to name them all but if theres a book i can buy or a website that i can go to i would greatly apperciate it . the whole reason why im asking these questions are that im tryn to do my next setup correctly that would fit my style of bass . and would like to use it as a reference in the future

There is one book I like in particular, it is the loudspeaker design cookbook by vance dickason. This book would provide a very valuable resource.

book

It would also depend on the organic materials used to construct the magnet. The weaker the magnetic strength, the more magnet needed to have a good push on the elcectromagnet (voice coil). But it really doesnt matter now.
