Magnaflow or Flowmaster?

Doesn't Borla use baffles to create the sound? My Magnaflow doesn't. It's also straight through, stainless and way cheaper.

I guess it depends on application. the 4.6L Ford engine sounds awesome with just abuot anything. I didn't really like the Flowmaster 50. I've had a mustang gt with the SLP loudmouth and it sounded really good. I've had a 69 Firebird 400 with dual Flowmasters and It sounded great. Thats the reason I bought it for my new truck but I wasn't satisfied. Hense the Magnaflow. So far I like it a lot better.

I have the 18" magnaflow, 3" in, 3" out on my 4.6l f150 with just regular crush bent 3" pipe from the local muffler shop. Sounds great, unfortunately it flowed so much better than stock that I lost a little bottom end //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Go with flowmaster! Have them on both mustangs. A nissan titan, and camaro. Have ran magnaflow on titan but it shit out after 1 winter //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif Plus got better gas milage with flowmasters:)

Sounds like a classic case of back pressure reduction overkill. You probably lost a healthy chunk of torque. I was worried about this but mine seemed fine with the Flowmaster and it's a little snappier with the Magnaflow but it really isn't that much different I suppose. I like the sound better though.

Yup, the crush bent exhaust pipe I thought would keep me some back pressure but it is indeed overkill. Oh well, its not a horrible loss down low, but a person does have to be careful to not overdo it on exhaust or you can lose alot of power down low.

i gota 4.6 in my f150 took the muffler off dual out 2.5 pipe and its sounds good and its low. bout to take 2 cats off.......

Yeah the magnaflow is a low tone. It takes a few thousand miles for them to sound the way they do in their sound/vid clips on their website.

My flowmaster 50 was louder for sure. Problem was that it sounded all exhaust. I believe that the vehicle needs to sound like it's got real power. Not just sound. The Magnaflow with a cone type intake really sounds awesome together.

Gotta keep that cab noise down imo. Drives me insane. That was one of the reasons I didn't like the flowmasters.
