Magnaflow or Flowmaster?

Getting an exhaust for my avalanche soon and wanted some opinions on each. I was told the only difference is sound. Any input?

flowmaster is more a louder exhuast and the magnaflow is a softer sounding exhuast my step dad tryed both. going with magaflow first and wasnt what he wanted. so he tryed flowmaster and night and day differace. this is on 5.7L hemi so it wasnt a power issue 380HP/404LBS torq

I'll stick with flowmaster, what model are u planning on purchasing?? and any system in the avy yet?

Magnaflows flow better and are alittle less noisey and are stainless . A 40 series flowmaster on that will sound awesome . Catback...the flowmaster systems sound better but the magnaflows will get you just a little more power . Solos are better than both . It all depends on how far you want to go in the exhaust...headers...high flow cats...bigger pipes to acheive your goal

Flowmaster will be ALOT louder inside. alot.

They drone like crazy, one of the reasons i took it off. I actually just ordered a magnaflow 2 minutes ago.. lol

Flowmaster has always been and will always be crap. Magnaflows will flow better, hands down. Magnaflow is quieter around idle and cruising speeds but it gets loud once you go WOT. I had Flowmasters befor and I'll NEVER get them again, Magnaflow or Bassani FTW.

both companies patent contracts are up

go to a local shop and i guarentee you they have an exhaust system that replicates at least one of them, and its at a fraction of the cost.

I have the GM performance exhaust/intake on my truck. Its not roaring loud, but sounds good and gets throaty when you romp on it.
