I'm going to build one of these off of PE this summer. Would a Behringer A500 amp be sufficient for one of these? I'm asking because I'm not sure how it won't blow the midrange and tweeter since they only require about 65 watts rms.

Yes that amp will work. It won't blow it if you don't turn it up all the way, obviously.

And the power rating is not a requirement, it is a guide. You don't have to supply 65W RMS all the time (and you won't either).

Agreed. That amplifier should be fine for that project.
