Just got a mini van for free from GF mom. and want to put 1 18 ported in there, Which one of these bad mama jammas would be best for my application.?

bad mamma jamma? well, dis regarding thats statement, i would say the IXL-18. Only because ive had experience with mach5, and they perform very well. others may suggest the SSD, but ive never heard one or owned anything FI so i cant suggest something i know nothing about. whats wrong with your TC's? you keeping them for your other car?

I know they arent bad mamma jammas, and yea, i have the 15 TC, in my malibu. But its in a sealed box and I want to try my hand at ported boxes but dont really have the room in the malibu for a ported encloser of my liking.... I think. SO i figuered why not do it in a van. and do a 18". Im thinking about hte mach 5 as well, really dont know why just leaning that way. Thanks.

I'd have to vouch for the 18" SSD just b/c I have the SSDs myself...They get loud, low, and sound great doing it! Very efficient subs..

it might be easier/cheaper to power the SSD than the IXL

well all I have atm is a "800" watt rms audiobahn amp. but will buy one later down the road. that actully puts out 800watts. I am doing this mostly for the experiance of playing with ported boxes now that I have the room. And i figer since I have the room and I have always wanted a 18, I can do it now.

IT will depend on what ohm load your amp makes power, the IXLs are only 4 ohm.

Yea wtf is up with that? I hate that they only come in SVC 4. Meh maybe I will go the Fi just for the wiring options.

That is the configuration that Mark choose to do. The IXL's are popular in the home audio crowd so far, they love the output and sound. But the SSD has more options and versatility, so its up to you which you prefer.

Go with Fi. Their build quality is 100000x that of anything from china.

Big box big power with the SSD..... don't be afraid to use 10-12 cubes NET if your dealing with an audiobanh 800 watt amp. If you get more power you'll want to go smaller.
